VISION
One thing is certain for us: not only today, but also in the future, we will focus entirely on lip care. Our vision is for Hipi Faible to become synonymous with lip care in the natural cosmetics sector. We use only high-quality ingredients and sensible packaging. In addition to a high-quality product, it is very important to us to consider all aspects from an ethical perspective.
BRAND
Most people probably associate Hipi Faible with the 1968 hippie movement. This minor "misunderstanding" doesn't bother us at all. However, " Hippi " doesn't derive from the 1968 hippie movement, but is a term from the language of the indigenous people of New Zealand – the Maori – and means " sheep ." With this name, we want to emphasize how much we value our main ingredient – lanolin – and its nourishing and wound-healing properties.
SUSTAINABILITY
For us, sustainability is just as important as a good product. However, we don't approach this topic dogmatically, but rather examine the ingredients and packaging materials we use in great detail. This means, for example, that while the Hipis aren't vegan, we do take great care to ensure that our lanolin comes from organic sheep farming and that the animals have a good life. When choosing packaging materials, it's particularly important to us that they are easily recyclable.
INGREDIENTS
Our most important ingredient is lanolin . It typically makes up about 80% of our formulas and has softening and wound-healing properties – perfect for lip care! It's no coincidence that lanolin is used in many baby products such as diaper rash creams, healing wool, and nipple creams for breastfeeding mothers.
Our lanolin is the only certified organic lanolin in the world, something we are particularly proud of. Its quality is so high that the risk of allergies is minimal. This is because the free lanolin alcohols have been reduced to a minimum. We also ensure the highest quality for all our other ingredients and, wherever possible, opt for organic quality.
FRAGRANCES
The topic of fragrances in cosmetics is currently a hot one. We've decided to offer both fragranced and fragrance-free products. In most cases, fragrances don't have any skin-care properties, and they aren't needed for this purpose in our lip care products either. However, fragrances do have the ability to influence mood and are therefore also used in aromatherapy. Since the lips are anatomically very close to the nose, our fragrances create a pleasant sensation. We only use high-quality, natural fragrances, always below the permitted concentrations, but we would like to emphasize that fragrances are also often potent allergens. Ultimately, everyone has to decide for themselves whether a great scent is important to them and test whether the product is well tolerated. Of course, the allergenic fragrances are listed at the end of our ingredient list.
MADE IN GERMANY
The Hipis are produced near Koblenz. But we also rely on "Made in Germany" quality for our packaging, such as the pump dispenser and the aluminum tins. The raw materials themselves usually don't come from Germany, as the desired qualities are often not available here. Our organic wool wax, for example, comes from Patagonia in southern Argentina, but is processed again in Germany.
